I received a BFA in illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and worked for many years as a graphic designer and illustrator for advertisements, book jackets, posters, magazines and newspapers. I illustrated nine children’s picture books, including two for Simon & Schuster that I also wrote.

Eventually I left illustrating behind and returned to oil painting, wanting to focus on the primal passions that have always driven my desire to see — the essential but often obscured motive behind any artist’s work. My paintings are about male beauty, the feeling of unrequited love, the high-school crushes we have on those young gods roaming the streets.
